Sara L. Valencia

2004 Promise Prize Scholar, University at Buffalo Law School (SUNY) JD, 2006.  A native of Brooklyn, Sara is a Support Magistrate with the New York State Unified Court System, Monroe County Family Court, Rochester, NY.  She has served as Chair of the Monroe County Bar Assn, and Commissioner of the Rochester Housing Authority.  Sara received her Juris Doctorate, cum laude in 2006 from the University at Buffalo School of Law, where she was a Moot Court Competition Board Member and finalist, as well as Co-Editor and Chief of the Buffalo Women’s Law Journal.  Sara has served as a Municipal Attorney for the City of Rochester, Senior Assistant District Attorney, for Monroe County, Rochester, New York and has also worked for Lipsitz & Ponterio, the New York State Division of Human Rights, and the City University of New York.  Sara studied sociology, women's studies and history at the State University of New York at Albany, where she graduated with a BA summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
